The Tournament is (funnily enough) an unimaginatively named tournament. The entire plot of the SHAME arc in Compile Worlds revolved around it's conduct, although the ground work for it was set up in the Amalgamation and the Meteor arc.
History
See: SHAME for a more detailed account of the events that transpired.

Sometime prior to the beginning of The Amalgamation, possibly during the aftermath of the Meteor Arc, Nanako met with Strange Klug (As documented in the Strange Klug Reports), Auriol, and Ekoro (who had not taken the form of Omega's body at the time yet), and the four of them learned about the Metalevels. After discovering the implications this had, the four quickly organized the idea of having a tournament where each team would be given a one. Nanako and Ekoro seemed to hope that this would encourage the zeroes and the ones to have respect for each other and continue to see each other as equals, though they also were fascinated and wondered how far up the metalevels truly went, so they also hoped that by having so many powers clash, that an Even greater power would rear its head. Strange Klug and Auriol, on the other hand, seemed to have more malevolent and sinister intentions in mind for what the climax would mean to them, though Strange Klug was fascinated by the power of the ones all the same.
During The Amalgamation, behind the scenes manipulation by Ekoro, Strange Klug, Nananko, and and Auriol resulted in the formation of what would be the five teams and their ones for the tournament. Some of them fell into place naturally, such as Ringo and Eltia making association with each other, while others, such as Daichi ending up on Angol Mois' Team, rather than Marin's, had to be manipulated by external forces.
With the Teams in place, the tournament began, and the four hosts encouraged the other teams to beat the ever loving snot out of each other. At the same time, they kept up appearances with spectators and taunted them, riling up Sig in particular, in order to align with Strange klug and Ekoro's goals. Team Satan made the first move, almost immediately attacking Team Angol for the petty reason of making use of Satan's Primpian Castle as his base. Angol was nearly killed in the ensuing battle, being saved by Eldora during the last seconds. With Angol being taken to the Imprisonment Dimension, his team was effectively disbanded. Team Satan absorbed Draco, Feli, and Gypsum during the aftermath, while Daichi, free of Angol's control, distributed himself to Team Marin instead.
Next, Team Harpy attacked Team Ekoro. Most of Ekoro's team was incapacitated or missing, so Ekoro himself had to take on his clones, and he was nearly sucessful in single handedly fighting them off, but then there was Sig. And then Sig decided to wreak havoc on Keiji's plot line by completely obliterating Ekoro's union in a single blow. Ekoro was freed from Ecolo, and possessed the body of Omega to continue supervising the tournament towards it's destined finale. Witch ran off to go find Chitose, disqualifying the both of them. Ecolo and Alpha were absorbed by Team Harpy in the aftermath. Nanako meanwhile, appeared and allowed Sig to join the tournament with a team of 3, absorbing Accord and promoting Rider from her spectator status.
As things wrapped up over there, Nanako and Auriol finally completed the Abyssian Colosseum in which the next battle between Team Satan and Team Marin would take place. During this match, a Ring-Out 1 vs 1 knock out rule was imposed, since Team Satan had grown ridiculously large thanks to absorbing nearly the entirety of Angol's team. A huge epic battle raged on, so much that the RPers themselves even felt the fatigue of the battle wearing on them. Towards the end, Eltia and Arle engaged in a Dragon Ball Z style beam battle that destroyed some of the colosseum and put them both out of bounds. A tie was almost drawn, but Steve was there in the Ring during the aftermath, so Satan won by that small technicality. Lagnus was so pissed by the outcome and having to work with Satan that he resigned himself, and the rest of the characters were unwillingly absorbed by Satan since they didn't want to become spectators.
After this, the setup for the final match began behind the scenes. Strange Klug, content that Sig was promoted to a Team Leader, left to prepare for fulfilling his agenda. Omega, meanwhile, acting as Ekoro, absorbed the clones, forcing Team Harpy to disband and Ecolo to go into hiding so he would not continue to interfere with his evil shenanigans. Omega also facilitated the promotion of Amitie to Red Amitie, allowing her to become a one in the process and aborsbing Satan's overly bloated team (which now had THREE ones thanks to absorbing all the other team's ones into his own). Nanako later discovered Auriol's "betrayal" (which may have actually been according to Keikaku) and gave chase, with Harpy following to spectate.
The final match was a 3 on 3, Nanako and Omega had intended all along to fight, though Strange Klug and Auriol's betrayals were unexpected. Sig and Amitie joined Nanako, and the long awaited finale began. Sig and Strange Klug fought for control of Sig's body, which Strange Klug lost. Meanwhile Auriol and Nanako exchanged several blows, though Amitie and Omega killed both of them respectively due to being insanely powerful ones. During the last stages of the fight though, just when it looked like Amitie and Omega were about to accidentally the entire Primp, CFW Judge appeared and redirected the attack, causing a giant crater to simply appear.
Omega and Nanako both declared they had won, though nobody knew what this meant. Judge later explained he had a metalevel even higher than one, and shamed Nanako and Ekoro for organizing the tournament, since it lead to manipulation, murder, and gathering the worst of Compile World's villains to have amusing death matches, among other things. Benedict then restored the bodies of everyone who was killed or absorbed in the fights, with the exception of a handful. Nanako decided to continue her research in a more peaceful way, content knowing she wasn't chasing a false lead. Ekoro was satisfied with just seeing a two in person, and proceeded to stop doing destructive things following SHAME. Klug was freed by his possession by Sig, who seemingly "destroyed" the Book Demon (though this remains questionable should Strange Klug have a reason to return later; losing a good villain is never fun :D). Auriol disappeared for the rest of Compile Worlds after being revived; she would later reappear with her magic sealed away in Compile ♥ Worlds.
The Tournament was briefly mentioned again by Judge, who accidentally mentioned it to Angol during a conflict.
Rules
Further reading: Metalevels, LOPAC roles
The Rules of the tournament were rather vague and open ended. For the tournament, five teams were allowed to be formed, and each of them had five team members, who were manipulated to be distributed based on the LOPAC roles; anyone who was not on one of the five teams was given the 6th "Spectator" role, and though Spectators could potentially involve themselves at the risk of danger, they could not participate in the Tournament and had no effect on it's standings. Sig and Amitie were the only (surprise) exceptions to this rule, as they had become ones through various means and eventually earned the ability to participate.
There was no tournament hierarchy that distributed match ups for the teams; instead, the teams were allowed to decide their own match ups after forming and becoming aware of their involvement in the tournament. The winning team proceeded, while the losing team was disqualified and its members had to either resign or redistribute themselves to another team. Usually, the winning team absorbed the losing teams members, thus becoming larger and having a bigger advantage in battles. There was also no set battle ground for any of the matches, apart from the all out match between Team Satan and Team Marin, where a large coliseum had been prepared especially for the event. This was also the only match that had a battle rule since the teams were so large.
There was no prize for winning, and no Team effectively "won" the tournament by any given standards. The tournament's true purpose, rather, was to expose the metalevels and their influence and purpose in the daily lives of the cast, although some of the hosts of the tournament had other, more sinister agendas on their mind. This resulted in the appearance of Benedict, who ended the tournament and restored the lives of everyone who died, save for Angol, who was instead saved by Eldora earlier, Eta, who was permanently absorbed by Sig, and Eltia and Chitose, who were absorbed/disappeared and then mysteriously reappeard later in C♥W Segment 1.
