It was revealed in the 25th episode of Subete that Ekoro was still alive in the orb, and his base had survived as well (albeit, with some very slight modifications). Ekoro insisted he had plans to escape from the orb and cause chaos together with Draco and Ringo, though none of them have yet to do anything to escape their prison, much less eachother.

Ekoro (also known as Ecolo) is a strange entity of Darkness that made his first appearance in Puyo Puyo 7. His face has a frighting resemblance to that Fawful, an infamous Mario villain, and also has a question mark on his forehead. Nobody knows where he came from, but some may say he exists in one of three parallel Puyoverses, none of them at all, or even in a place between the three.

Appearance in Subete PuyoPuyo

In Subete, Ekoro is very melodramatic and poetic, often elongating his sentences into complex ryhmes, riddles, and speeches. He suffers from many mental instabilities and pursues several obsessions, including hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliomania and loquacity (which explains his manner of speech), theatromania, sophomania, mythomania, gamomania, epomania, enosimania, aboulomania, excessive and perpetual euphoria, obsessive-compulsive disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, and psychopathy. Often he contrasts his own demeaning personality by acting somewhat polite and eccentric. He is also a master of surprise, and carries this into most of his actions. As a theatrical person, Ekoro is capable of imitating any voice, along with being able to change his form to match another's. Ekoro has great telekinetic powers, so powerful he is able to manipulate living beings into carrying out his orders, almost acting as their own brain. He could also stimulate pain so great it can cause one to die, and manipulate and brainwash people into thinking things that weren't reality. He also demonstrated he was capable of disintegrating and absorbing matter. Despite his great power and overwhelming personality, Ekoro was destroyed himself by his own clones, whom also had great power thanks to himself.

Apparently, he knew Strange Klug from visiting Primp prior to the events of the Ekoro Arc. However, Strange Klug did not reminiscent about this, as he was too busy scoffing Ekoro's carelessness and obsession. According to Strange Klug, Ekoro lacked the common sense to carry his plans into fruition, as evidenced by his creation and destruction of Phi, the eventual rejection of Zeta, and miscalculating the ADMA's ability to track him and defeat him, among other things. However, Ekoro's legacy continues to come up in discussion despite his defeat, as not only has it grabbed the attention of other villains such as the Book Demon and Lord Marcus, but it also activated a revenge program within Zeta, complete with instructions to eliminate the remaining traitorous clones. It is also constantly implied by various characters that Ekoro may still even be alive within the orb, albeit only barely. Because of this, his orb has become a recurring plot point in the Meteor Arc, along with his remaining legacy and any still-unknown parts of his original plan. It was recently revealed that Ekoro's Base still survives within the orb.

Appearance in Puyo Puyo 7

In PP7, Ekoro had possessed Arle and turned her into Dark Arle. Nevertheless, even with Arle's power, he was defeated. However, left to his own accord, his power apparently became too great for Ringo alone to stop him from disintegrating all existence by burying the world with Puyo to make things better for her world for the lulz. So Arle, Amitie and Ringo triple teamed on Ekoro, and Ekoro just gave up. He takes the form of a Shadowy Ringo, and borrows steals her animations. In Transformation Mode, Ekoro changes into shadowy doppelgangers of different characters, such as Feli, Lemres and Klug. His AI is a pussy, however, and is easily obliterated by any player... at least by those who don't play Hard mode or make his playing skills over 9000, anyway.

Appearance in Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary

Ekoro once again appears as a diabolical mastermind in 20th Anniversary, along with (GASP!) Satan. Ekoro stages Ringo, Maguro, Risukuma, and Witch's entrance to Primp, via meteors of course, without a concern for any stray Cirnos that may be flying about. Of course, after the events of Puyo Puyo 7 (and possibly Subete), Ekoro got fat and derpy from being so consumed with hatred and depression that he nearly ate himself to death at McDonald's. Of course, he continues to rob other characters of their animations, but not their designs. Eventually Ringo learns that ONE of the villains sent her to Primp, so she hunts down Ekoro, who then plays a game of hot potato by passing the blame onto Satan, and then Accord, who passes it back to Ekoro again. Fed up with Ringo constantly screwing with his plans, Ekoro sends Ringo and Arle to The Pink Paradise to confront Satan again. Unfortunately, Satan is too stupid to finish the job alone, so Ekoro teams up with him to gangbang (and of course violate) the girls, only to meet a fate similar to the climax of Puyo Puyo 7 and Subete, with the heroes ganging up on HIM...again. Thus, Ekoro finally sends Ringo back to her world, albeit possibly against her will. (:()

Oh, yeah. And if you buy enough useless hints from Shopoi, you'll probably get a human!Ekoro instead. Only available as an alternate character, but it'd be cool if he was available in Story Mode, too.

Quotes

Suspicion is based on one's own crimes.
To lose is to find, and to find is to steal,
sometimes what you see isn't real.
I wish I could stay and rhyme,
But I haven't got the time.
So now I say goodbye,
Tell your friend Draco I said hi...EYAH HE HE HE HE!
It is far from over, oh no it's just begun...wait until you see the wonderful thing I've done...A remarkable experiment....that's what I'll tell you....and when the hour draws near, there shall be two...
Thus...
... if I would bury the world in these rainbow jellies...
... the world might become a better place...
... and all its people will learn their lesson...
... perhaps.
