Ekoro, also known as Ekoro's Possessor, is a dark, blob like entity in Compile Worlds. Originally thought to be possessing Ecolo the evil Technomage, it turns out the exact opposite was true. Despite this, Ekoro is a parasitic being, unable to take a stable physical form without a host body. Currently, it is inhabiting Omega's body, after being expelled from Ecolo's in Episode 39 by Black Sig. He is also one of the four co conspirators of SHAME, though it was not revealed until the final episode.

Biography

According to Omega in Episode 49, Ecolo had taken over the mind of Ekoro 600 years prior to the RP. Ecolo used his power to spread great terror throughout the cosmos, and Ekoro could only suffer and watch as his power was being used to commit evil deeds. The calamity Ecolo caused in Primp only scratches the surface of what he's done. Despite having insider knowledge of Fake Arle's plans due to being in Ecolo's subconscious, Ekoro chose to leave it strictly as business between those two. Eventually, he was split from Ecolo by Black Sig's overkill Hydrangea spell. He quickly found another host body to take part in SHAME and all active resistance against Ecolo.

Unlike the lolzy mage, Ekoro is a much calmer figure. He is also quite melancholy at times, talking in an outright depressed tone. He is not on very good terms with Fake Arle, given she is involved in a lot of evil shenanigans conspiring against him.

Etymology

Ekoro is named after the direct romanization of Ecolo's name. While Ecolo used this as a misnomer for himself in the fused form, it actually stems from Ekoro being the English version of his name prior to 20th, where it was confirmed once and for all (like, finally) that his name was indeed romanized as "Ecolo".

Trivia

Ekoro has never spoken in his original form; only through Omega or Ecolo's bodies.

For example, he cannot escape from his imprisonment within his orb. He also apparently cannot handle multiple attacks hitting him simultaneously, probably due to his generally unstable nature. Ekoro's tendency to ramble may also contribute as a weakness, since his rambling almost distracts him. The greatest showcase of Ekoro's immense power is his survival inside a [[black hole]], inside an orb, after supposedly being killed by his clones, all of which is the result of being two powerful entities combined to make one.

"Kokoro", "corocoro", "Ecology" and "[[wikipedia:Entamoeba coli|e. coli]]" are all possible origins, with various degrees of relevance to his character. The spelling of his name is also a controversial subject, since SEGA has never released any media implying what the correct [[English]] romanization of his name is. Kokoro means "heart" in [[Japanese]], referring to how Ekoro supposedly "toyed with [[Arle]]'s Heart" in Puyo Puyo 7. Corocoro roughly translates to "something round and bouncy", which fits Ekoro's physical description quite well. E. coli is a parasite, again referring to how he steals other character's bodies or animations. It's unknown how Ecology would relate to Ekoro however.
