Does this hash make me look fat?

Raffine is a bitch that lives in the unimaginatively named Primp Town, and attends Primp Magic School. Her bitch-word is La-Ti-Da, and she says it rather often, much to the annoyance of her peers. While she acts haughty and frivolous and berates others, she is in fact not a real mage and must convert kinetic energy to magic using a pouch fastened to her waist at all times.

In Puyo Puyo Fever, Raffine came close to unraveling Ms. Accord and Popoi's dastardly conspiracy(?), but was ultimately thwarted when Accord tricked her into getting hit on the hit with a giant mallet before she could spill the beans. With the help of some hypnosis and amnesia, Raffine forgot all about Ms. Accord's suspicious acts and was subsequently removed from Ms. Accord's class.

In Puyo Puyo Fever 2, she was a member of the "advanced class", no longer under Ms. Accord's tutelage. Instead, she was seen running errands for Lemres in order to find magical items to make herself the sexiest girl in all of Primp. As you can guess, that clonk on the noggin back in Fever 1 probably killed whatever intelligent brain cells she had, because she totally doesn't take Strange Klug seriously or have any suspicious teacher shenanigans distracting her from her air-headed goals.

Appearance in Compile Worlds

Raffine only made minor appearances in Compile Worlds. She never joined the Anti-Accord Association or it's reformed ranks in Subete PuyoPuyo. The reasoning behind this was never explored. One could say that despite Raffine's rough past with Accord and being abused, she took the bribery bait Popoi laid and went along with their schemes. Another could say that she was withheld by Accord specifically because of her intimate knowledge of the unfurling plans. Reagardless, her appearances and any mentioning of her declined as the segment progressed until her existence, much like Tarutaru's, was completely forgotten. While there have occasionally been plans to bring her back, they have never been acted on.

Etymology

Raffine is the French word for Refined, relating to her snobby, rich bitch nature and past. While probably not directly related, it is interesting to note that Raffine is also similar to Rafflesia, a genus of parasitic flowers that smell like decaying flesh.
