Amy Rose is a pink female hedgehog appearing in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She likes to call herself Sonic's girlfriend, but Sonic likes to act like he has absolutely no sex drive and just wants to run around 24/7. However, this is simply a ruse to avoid extra trouble from Eggman. As well as with Sonic, Amy has been in several other pairings, including TailsAmy, ShadowAmy, AmyCream and even AmyRider.
She wields a Piko Piko hammer and uses it for many different attacks and even her own mobility, as she is slower than most other characters and cannot utilize the all-important rolling manoeuvre (while she can, technically, do this in Sonic Advance 2, that game doesn't count because it did all sorts of stupid things to the gameplay). She also likes to whack Sonic on the head with her hammer when he does something stupid. This hammer is usually stored in her portable hole, as can be seen in Sonic Advance. Most of the time, she's relatively useless, but she has a clear advantage in the Ice Mountain boss.
Theme song
Amy's theme song is titled My Sweet Passion and is about Amy's obsession with Sonic the Hedgehog, and it has some of the most ridiculous lyrics you've ever heard in a Sonic game since Toot Toot Sonic Warrior. The tune has a jazzy, lounge room kind of feel to it, making it ridiculously catchy, especially with the trumpet and saxophone solos. Not as catchy as New Venture, but still rather catchy indeed.
Yeah, you're really, really weird, Amy. At least, going by the song lyrics, it seems that Sonic reminds Amy of parsley, that Amy would paint herself blue and shave a Sphinx for Sonic, and a whole bunch of other weird shit...
The theme song can be found most easily in Sonic Adventure. It also appears in Sonic Adventure 2, in an incomplete form, but at least the sexy solo survived. Very, very small portions can be heard in Sonic Heroes (in Team Rose's theme, Follow Me) and SEGA Superstars Tennis (when Amy uses her star power). It also plays in the ending of Sonic and the Black Knight, which involves Amy.
