Sonic Heroes (InstanceTopic, 19)

From Compile Worlds

Sonic Heroes is the third 3D platformer in the Sonic series, which has been regarded with much controversy. Being heavily based on Chaotix, the game naturally features the reintroduction of Espio the Chameleon, Charmy Bee, and Vector the Crocodile, as well as formally introducing Cream the Rabbit to 3 dimensions. It is also the first multiplatform game in the series, though everyone knows the GCN port is the best. Sadly, it contains no Chao Garden.

Plot

Dr. Eggman's various capers have divided the Sonic cast into four evenly sized teams (Sound familiar?), and they all are hot on the tail of Eggman, who apparently has some secret treasure aboard his Egg Fleet. Team Sonic just wants to end Eggman's snooping as usual, Team Dark wants Eggman's goodies, Team Rose has an epic magical journey of love(?), and Team Chaotix is tricked by Eggman in to breaking him out of a cell on the ship...

...wait a second, if Eggman is locked in his ship, how can he commit evil deeds?? The 12 idiots learn he can't, and instead, it is Omochao Metal Sonic behind this chaos, and he transforms into the monster of the week. Eggman uselessly whines about the Chaos Emeralds, which prompts the gang to show him their precious things. Eggman then comments that Sonic will still need a miracle to beat Metal Sonic, which Shadow boasts Sonic's Super form can provide (...so how does he remember that Sonic has a super form now?). The three teams then distract Metal Sonic by hurling themselves at him, hoping to hit his blatantly obvious weakness for massive damage. In the end though, Tails and Knuckles have to go through a rather anti-climatic transformation into fake-super forms and aid Super Sonic in reverting Metal back into a pile of trash. The teams then part ways, with Eggman still in debt to the Chaotix.

Zones

Sonic Heroes has seven zones, which are then each split into two acts, one of which has a different name than the zone itself. Each team plays them in the exact same order, to our dismay, and most of the routes are the same as well.
