Z (EntityTopic, 7)
From Compile Worlds
Zet is a new character in the upcoming Puyo Puyo Tetris, representing the Tetris world since Tetris itself has no proprietary characters of its own. It is a giant , generic looking robot with a large Z block printed on the front of its body. Not much is known about it besides this.
Etymology
Zet comes from the "Z" shaped block in Tetris. Zet comes from the German pronunciation of the letter Z, and also rhymes with the "Teto" in the Japanese spelling of Tetris. The kana "ト(To)" is contained within Tetris. It is also similar to Zeta, the letter in the Greek alphabet that Z is based on the Latin alphabet. Zeta is also used in naming fictional robots, especially within SEGA's own franchises. Zeta also has a value of 7; there are seven Tetris pieces and Zet was the last to be revealed.
Trivia
- Zet is the only Tetris character who is not organic.
- In fact, Zet is the first mechanical character in the entire series.
- Zet is also the only Tetris character who is not named directly after the block on which it is based.
