The Professor (EntityTopic, 26)

The Professor is an unimaginatively named character from Puyo Wars. As his rather well-thought out name implies, he apparently is a professor of Puyo and Protectors, though he probably spends more time eating his lolipop. He is the (adoptive) father of Daichi, offering his expertise and advice throughout the game, and raising Daichi from birth, being the only person other than perhaps Angol Mois that is aware of his origins during the first half of the game. According to the game's opening, he recreated Puyo from ancient tablets after they were wiped from existence by the Planetary Gods of Gaias. Daichi affectionately calls him "father", though he insists Daichi should call him "Professor", suggesting that both are aware they are not biologically related to each other.

When on the overworld, players can visit his lab (Daichi's house?), where they can tinker with their Protectors in a variety of ways. They can also check their Protector encyclopedia to view data on any of the 650 tectars they've seen and recruited or built. Other than that though, he is a generally infrequent character.

Etymology

"The Professor" is a translation of "Hakase", which can literally mean 'Doctor' or 'PhD'.
