X is a new character in the upcoming Puyo Puyo Tetris, and is the only new character who doesn't seem to represent either series. He is an odd looking fellow with a white X in his hair and vibrant, colorful clothing reminiscent of clowns. He seems to be the final boss character. His attack phrases relate to game mechanics, such as "Speed up" and "Hard Drop" (and even Hyper Hard Drop).
