Cloaked Figure Squad (ConceptTopic, 8)

From Compile Worlds

The Cloaked Figure Squad, sometimes abbreviated to CFS, is a group of cloaked anthropomorphic characters appearing in Sonic Legends. They debuted as a mysterious group of ruthless marauding assassins, but eventually, partially due to intervention from Cream the Rabbit, they became a group of secondary allies that aided the heroes, particularly when the evil became beyond Sonic or Eggman's control. Sonic and his allies launched numerous attacks on their headquarters during their time as an antagonistic force. Most of the members are a specialist in both a particular weapon and or element.

Despite the canon recton, they will return, and they will re-debut as the antagonistic force they were created as.

Members

Dreadkneedle
The administrator and founder of the group, Dreadkneedle is a half-mechanical echidna. During his youth, half of his body was burned, causing his girlfriend to rebuild the missing half. His cane doubles as a sword that he wields in battle. Whether or not he is crippled by either old age or robotic parts has been a subject of much controversy. In the recent episodes before the retcon, he was mostly seen doing office work and other administrative tasks.
Son-x
A hybrid hegdehog-echidna who was responsible for burning Dreadkneedle's other half due to a rivalry in their adulthood. He has seemingly made amends with his employer however. His weapons are a set of huge, Wolverine-like claws.
Lily
A green fox girl. She was seemingly raised and trained by the CFS until she reached the ripe old age of 14. She shares an intimate (Read, NOT romantic) relationship with Son-X, and doesn't seem to specialize in any particular weapon, being a jack of all trades.
Assuma
The embodiment of pure evil, taking the form of an anorexic cat remarkably similar to Big the Cat. His origins are unknown, and he is ruthless. He also has a warped sense of humor, often making fun of his victims in their agony or teasing and torturing his co-workers for his own amusement. Naturally, he is of the dark element, and he wields twin katanas, each nearly the length of his arms.
Emerald
Dreadkneedle's Wife, also an echidna. In her youth, both Dreadkneedle and Son-X lusted for her, causing the latter to burn the former, cementing her relationship with him. She specializes in throwing knives and electricity.
Mexjery
Son of the ancient Divine Lady Rose, he is amnesiac of his past, and uses an artificial element to fight. He leaves the CFS eventually to pursue his past and mother, as well as less violent hobbies. His weapon is a bow and arrow.
Sytra
A serpentine echidna-like creature from Heidi. She specializes in poison, and fights by creating illusions and using stealth.
Captain Jack
A pirate hedgehog. He wields a cutlass in battle and specializes in water.
Rettilps
A Shadow-esque hedgehog with no visible limbs. He controls time and wields a pair of sais.
Nerveter
A raccoon of an unknown orign. To complement Rettilps' fighting style, he uses nunchuks and manipulates age independently of time, though he can also mildly manipulate water.
Anxia
A feminine animal of an indeterminate species. She wields a scythe and uses nature to attack.
Siek
A flameboyant cat who hardly takes his job seriously. He attacks with fire and recklessly brandishes a chainsaw.

Retired

While the members in the above list are the most commonly occurring members and probably the ones that will return in the second canon, there are a number of characters who were either killed or never made the cut. They are described below:

Gem
A Hedgehog with a fox tail. His element was light, and he used a shield rather than a legitimate weapon. He was killed by Dreadkneedle in order to gain Assuma's trust and avoid creating a mutiny in his organization. He also deliberately defied orders to slay Cream.
Hali
A tom-boyish, barbaric bat woman clad in head to toe in heavy armor. She brandished a battle axe and had a strange interest in Assuma. She was eventually scrapped from the above members for unknown reasons.
Merca
An artificial soul created by Assuma to inhabit Cream's body. She used a broom and also wielded light; her purpose was to enforce Assuma's mutiny by being a powerful puppet under his control. She was introduced in the canon, but her plot was eventually scrapped altogether after constant delays. Her name is an anagram of Cream.
Magema
A wicked bird mage whose body was completely made up of fire. She was scrapped from the main roster after Black Amendment found it difficult to use her and blend her with the chemistry of the existing members.
Bird
A bird was designed by Chao to be a gun-toting, fem fatale of the CFS, but she was scrapped without the possibility of introduction. Her name was forgotten as well as unpronounceable.
