The Divine Lady Rose, or simply just Rose (ローズ Ro^zu), is an original character, created by kumizonian Chao, appearing in Sonic Legends. She serves as a crucial story character, filling in gaps within the back stories of some other characters, but herself, remains rarely present in any given situation. Her current whereabouts is on a Floating Crystal Palace, where she travels through space, time and dimensions endlessly and freely, searching for hope in the universe, and possibly seeking world peace for her long lost son Mexjery. She specializes in mainly Nature magic, but also uses the foreign element of crystal, responsible for the formation of her Palace, her son, and the Crystal Orb.

Personality

Rose is often depicted as continuously sad or perhaps chronically depressed. Her sadness may come from causes out of her control, which may explain why she stays in these emotions perpetually. Her demeanor may also speak of the immense trauma her family has suffered, which may have had an impact on her. She may also simply be sad or lacking in other emotions because the universe and dimensions of which she aimlessly and endlessly travels to are empty, therefore, making her feel empty as well. Even after seeing her son was alright and being reunited with him, her joy seemed to have lasted only moments. However, Rose had also sensed trouble, and much to her chagrin, a possibly traumatizing fight broke out in front of her. Perhaps she had given up on intervening with the world in hopes of peace because of such violence. Irregardless, do to her lack of appearances, her character besides eternal anguish is largely unknown, and possibly underdeveloped. However, unlike Shadow the Hedgehog, she is not an emofag and exhibits a completely different side of depression.

Personal history

Ancient times

Long ago, Rose was the pacifist sister of the once benevolent queen Cornelia. Rose had just begun the development of her own crystal palace, which was soon to be complete, and had recently given birth to her only son, whom she had originally named Jimmy, and was hoping to settle down and live a quiet peaceful life. However, Cornelia's desire to conquer another kingdom led her to be corrupted by the demon Corledria, which then possessed Cornelia's body. It ran rampant, crushing kingdom after kingdom in violent chaos. Rose had to take action, for if she didn't the safety of Cornelia's own kingdom would be jeopardized. Rose sent Jimmy into the future, giving him a new name of Mexjery and temporarily erasing his memories of all before he was warped to ensure his safety and emotional well being. Rose then created the Crystal Orb and, with the help of Cornelia's Husband the King, sealed her inside of it. Unfortunately, the King was also sealed inside, due to Cornelia's intervention. At last, Rose's crystal palace was completed, so she too, warped to the future, and began to begin a long drawn out cycle.

Modern times

Rose then began her endless cycle of traveling all things in the universe for some reason. Occasionally, Rose will break the cycle to visit Earth once more, to see what has become of it, and continue her search for Mexjery/Jimmy, only to be met with more grief to refuel her sadness. One day, however, Mexjery began having strange dreams and visions about his past. He consulted Dreadkneedle about them, and he was advised to leave the CFS and peruse these visions, for not doing so would probably mean death at the hands of Assuma, whom was putting his traitorous conspiracy into motion, already responsible for the death of one CFS member. The Floating Crystal Palace had arrived, and Cream, even though she had no idea what it was, insisted that Sonic and friends visit it. Once on, they met Rose, whom was shortly thereafter reunited with Jimmy. She explained her back story to the gang. But before she could go any further, Jankoutsu invaded the palace, with who knows what intentions. However, Dreadkneedle arrived, and a deadly fight between the two ensued. Rose was horrified at what she saw. Dreadkneedle and Jankoutsu both came close to killing each other, but both seemed to survive, and the two eventually ended when a stalemate was reached. Rose has since not returned to Earth. Her return is speculative, since besides checking for world peace, her incentive to visit Earth has been fulfilled.

Name Origin

Rose is a common name for fantasy princesses in fiction, but it is also the name of a flower. This same flower shows up constantly in her palace, and she is almost always carrying a rose. This in turn also references to her son and nephew's Nature magic powers, supposedly even inherited from herself. A Rose also served as the pedestal to the Crystal Orb.
