X is a new character in the upcoming Puyo Puyo Tetris, and is the only new character who doesn't seem to represent either series. He is an odd looking fellow with a white X in his hair and vibrant, colorful clothing reminiscent of clowns. He seems to be the final boss character.

X may come from the "X" in the logo of the game itself, which features a giant "X". Furthermore, this X is white, not unlike the one in the character's hair, and may additionally represent a "cross", as in the crossover between the two different series. X also looks like the Greek letter χ (Chi), which is often pronounced similarly to "key", perhaps to signify his importance. Finally, X may refer to the X pentomino.
