Reimu Hakurei (EntityTopic, 12)
From Compile Worlds
Reimu Hakurei is one of the main characters of the Touhou series and the only miko known... until Sanae Kochiya appears in Mountain of Faith, that is! Oh, wait. The latter's a demi-goddess, and more of a priestess! Oh, well...
She maintains the Hakurei Border of Gensokyo and exterminates troublesome youkai. She's really powerful, but since her power is mostly pure talent she can get away with being lazy and not bothering to train.
Art Evolution
She's changed quite surprisingly throughout the years. In the PC98 era, you'll be seeing her in the usual miko wear (And ribbon) while she has purple eyes and purple hair. By the windows era, her hair and eyes are brown her hair has turned brown, eyes are now dark red her hair and eyes alternate through various colors in the range of dark red, brown and black (Or blue, because it's a rule for mikos to have blue eyes when they appear in fighting games) and she wears the red-white clothes and new ribbon we all know now... and shows off those delightfully delicious armpits. By Mountain of Faith, she's an undead zombie.
Reimu the Antihero
For a hero that everyone loves, she's got no shortage of faults, all across every game she's appeared in!
- Highly Responsive to Prayers: Reimu goes on a homicidal rampage.
- Story of Eastern Wonderland: Reimu enslaves an elderly turtle and seeks revenge for Mima's revenge for Reimu's previous rampage.
- Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream: Reimu interferes with academia and scientific progress.
- Lotus Land Story: Reimu kills a youkai who tried to help her, tries to stop a girl from having a sound sleep, and beats up gods 2/2MugetsuGengetsu just for the heck of beating something up.
- Mystic Square: Reimu orphans Alice and destroys an entire world for its creator's belief in the free market. Also kills an innocent tourist demon on the way.
- Embodiment of Scarlet Devil: Reimu places a little girl who wanted to go flower gazing under house arrest, and on the way, beats up retarded kids 2/2RumiaCirno, violates private property, AND beats an asthmatic person up twice. Then, she beats up someone else, who'll mutilate you if you call her retarded.
- Perfect Cherry Blossom: Reimu stops Yuyuko from getting an important discovery, and beats up the self-appointed guardian of an inhabited village on the way, with the stated intention of plundering it for good luck (which she then seemingly does off-camera).
- Immaterial and Missing Power: Reimu breaks up parties, and prevents Suika from achieving her dream of reuniting her people.
- Imperishable Night: Reimu kills the elderly repeatedly, and strips Gensokyo from Lunar protection. Play the right pair 4/4Marisa KirisameAlice MargatroidSakuya IzayoiRemilia Scarlet, and she'll do everything in her power to stop said pair from saving the day.
- Phantasmagoria of Flower View: Reimu attacks people for no good reason.
- Mountain of Faith: Reimu oppresses other religions.
- Scarlet Weather Rhapsody: Reimu endorses slave labor, beats up her best friend to get out of doing chores, and spends the majority of the story throwing baseless accusations at every person she meets and beating them up before they can protest.
- Subterranean Animism: Reimu cuts back funding for alternative energy sources.
- Undefined Fantastic Object: Reimu tries to beat up Jesus for wanting peace amongst humans and youkai, and performs racism against her friends.
- Hisoutensoku: Reimu blames little kids for trouble because they look like they're having fun.
- Double Spoiler: Reimu refuses to cooperate with important paparazzi 2/2Aya ShameimaruHatate Himekaidou.
- Fairy Wars: Reimu doesn't even raise a foot to stop the "war" between the most abundant creatures in Gensokyo.
- Ten Desires: Reimu escalates a religious conflict and enacts violence against a much beloved historical figure.
Heck, even in the one shooting game she appeared in that ZUN cooperated to work with has her as a real jerk! She would rather see scrap metal than help the maid robot look for blood of a man she doesn't know.
Well, she does it as she solves her incidents and, as mentioned, everyone (I think) loves her, so she's still a good girl.
