Purple is one of the three secondary colors, the others being orange and yellow/green. It is a combination of red and blue. As such, many different shades of purple exist, being of either a pink/redish purple or a blueish purple.

Nanako, Mewtwo, Blaze the Cat, Twilight Sparkle are notable examples of characters featuring the color purple extensively. Usually, purple symbolizes high social status or royalty, even though the first dyes of it were made from snail guts. In Compile Worlds' ontology system, concept topics are represented by purple links. The rather ambiguous face on the purple Puyo leads one to wonder what emotions it could represents, as the look on it's face can be interpreted as anything from "irritated" to "rape face".
