The holy element, also known as light element, is an element specifically associated with a light alignment. It is practiced with ridiculously happy things, such as starry pink staffs, sugar, Chao and Carbuncle. It is the opposite to dark element.

Like the dark element, it is often considered not a true element, and in a perfect world it would indeed not be, but many affinity systems have only one dimension (elements) rather than the two or three dimensions of elements and alignments, so they must fit in as elements.

Magic of a holy element is often called white magic. Unfortunately some games use "white magic" as a misnomer for "defensive magic" or "healing hands".
