24 is the official number of Puyo Puyo, being a clever pun. SEGA has declared that 2/4 shall be hence forth known as Puyo day. Ironically, they didn't announce Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary on that day.

In case it wasn't enough that 24 is the number of Puyo, the track number of the most epic track in Puyo Wars is also 24.
- This track contains some Period 5, having a time format of (2+5)*8*4.
- It reminds Keiji of similarly epic music from Clannad, Homestuck and (puts up flame shield) Linkin Park.
There are 24 hours in a day.
- Mean 24/7 is Puyo Puyo 7.
There are 24 playable characters in Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary
Box 24, which contains Toadette.
Arbok is the 24th Pokémon in the National Pokédex, being overshadowed by Pikachu.
