Marie, also known as Bloody Marie (an obvious pun on Bloody Mary), is the titular Skullgirl from Skullgirls (during the present period the game is set in, at least). As the Skullgirl, she bears the Skull Heart, causing her body to slowly rot away from there outwards. She's in this state after wishing a Bad End on the slave traders who made a mess of her friend Patricia... yet it's that very friend who's later forced by circumstance to destroy her.
