Purple is one of the three secondary colors, the others being orange and yellow/green. It is a combination of red and blue. As such, many different shades of purple exist, being of either a pink/redish purple or a blueish purple.

Nanako, Mewtwo, Blaze the Cat and Twilight Sparkle are notable examples of characters featuring the color purple extensively. Usually, purple symbolizes high social status or royalty, even though the first dyes of it were made from snail guts.
