Epic is an overused adjective which is supposed to convey epicness but fails now because it's used too much. It is estimated that the word "epic" was used just as many times in Nintendo's pathetic E3 2010 conference as all other uses put together.

According to Maddox[1], there are only three things which are epic: oceans, the cosmos and heroic novels. And while this is practically impossible to objectively disagree with, it is just as hard to find a different word that suitably conveys what we think of certain Minecraft landscapes, or the newest Touhou M-1 Grand Prix video coming out, or similar things.
