Perfect Cherry Blossom is the second game in the Windows Touhou series (making it the seventh overall). Perfect Cherry Blossom is the second game in the Windows Touhou series (making it the seventh overall). But since Touhou is not a series (All the while having the word "series" on its title), it's not a real sequel to Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. In this game, Reimu (Or Marisa. Or maybe even Sakuya!) goes on an epic adventure to get Gensokyo's Spring back from ghosts. And to plunder cat homes of their treasure. Jerk.

It's also here that we see Alice Margatroid from Mystic Square all grown up. Children grow fast these days... *sniff*

Again, awesome characters like Yuyuko Saigyouji and Chen make their debut in this little game. And it's also here that we see Alice Margatroid from Mystic Square all grown up. Children grow fast these days... *sniff* Anyway, contrary to popular belief, the music here is just as awesome and original as ever, as shown by Bloom Nobly, Cherry Blossoms of Sumizome ~ Border of Life and more other songs. Since NecroFantasia is just an arrange, it's the only song that's not really that awesome. Not that being a song from an upgraded Extra mode excuses a thing. It also nerfs the death margins to longer lengths (Well, only Reimu, anyway) so it's not as challenging a game as its "prequel". Just... watch how you go with Stage 4 and the Prismrivers!

While the best music in this game obviously has to be the Stage 5 boss theme (which is obviously a remix of the Stage 5 boss theme of EoSD, which is obviously the best music in that game too), perhaps its greatest musical achievement was Alice's theme, as this led to Marisa stealing the precious thing.

Perfect Cherry Blossom is the second game in the Windows Touhou series (making it the seventh overall). Apart from a boatload of new characters, slightly different music, new danmaku patterns and a ridiculous death margin that makes Reimu's gameplay way too easy, it's exactly the same as Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. The storyline-for-the-sake-of-a-storyline in this game is a quest to get Gensokyo's Spring back from scary ghosts... and to plunder cats' villages of their treasure. Whomever knew Reimu could be such a jerk?

It's also here that we see Alice Margatroid from Mystic Square all grown up. Children grow fast these days... *sniff*

Also, you can play as Sakuya in this game for the first time. Huzzah!
