You can switch back to the old "red and blue only" links by unticking the "Enable link colors" box in your account settings. However, at the moment, to get pages to display link colors correctly after changing this setting, you either need to restart your session (by logging out or in again, or restarting your browser), or purge any page you already visited in the same session. This will hopefully be fixed soon.

A new feature introduced on January 27, 2010 is extended link colors. Original MediaWiki displays links in red if the target page doesn't exist, and in blue otherwise. Extended link colors adds a number of other colors for other types of target page. These are summarized in the following table:

Color Example Meaning
Blue Element Link leads to an article about a concept (i.e. something non-tangible), or leads to a section or action on the current page.
Green Cirno Link leads to an article about an instance (i.e. something tangible).
Purple Category:Lists Link leads to a page related to organization, usually a category or disambiguation page, or leads to a page in the Special namespace.
Brown User:Neko Kohaku Link leads to a user page, i.e. a Kumizonian.
Orange Category:Awesomesauce Link leads to a page which is either uncategorized, is categorized only in orange categories, is in a category which doesn't exist, or is a non-transitive category. If an article is orange, it's probably not categorized correctly. Currently the only non-transitive categories are Category:Good things, Category:Awesomeness and Category:Awesomesauce.
Red ((LongName)) Link leads to a page which does not exist.
