A maid, often referred to in anime by the Engrish meido, is a housekeeper who is usually a young woman with a ribbon or bow on her head, and is usually seen wearing a French maid outfit (that, or a kimono). Maids are usually very violently dedicated to their jobs, oblivious to whomever they're looking after. Alternatively, they will develop a crush on their master, who they will call goshujin-sama (for a male), or ojou-sama (for a female). Sometimes, though, they're also blade-throwing ninjas.
