Magical Drop F (InstanceTopic, 15)
From Compile Worlds
Magical Drop F is the fourth game in the Magical Drop series of games. It could be cited as the Puyo Puyo~n of the series, and the two games are extremely comparable apart from being "4quels" released in the CD-ROM era of console gaming. Particularly, similarities include the game throwing out the beautiful soundtrack of Magical Drop III for it's own, much more mellow soundtrack, redesigning the characters in a more "serious" art style, having a transformation gimmick ala Puyo Puyo 7 that doesn't seem to have a profound visible effect on gameplay, and in general just being less wacky (and that's NO good!). It also breaks one of the major traditions of including Black Pierrot as the comical secret boss, instead replacing him with a hyperactive warrior character called Burnz. It was the last game in the series made by Data East, and most of the fandom, as well as the developers of Magical Drop V, have decided to consider it non-canon due to how far away it strays from III and V. (We don't really blame them though, there's no information on anything actually relevant in the game anyway.)
