The Spiky-Haired Protagonist (SHP) is one of the two most often seen anime stereotypes. Usually, these characters are teenage boys or young adults, with spiky hair in (usually) bright colors. The boys are often naive, mischievous, and have a strong sense of justice. Occasionally, you will find a SHP who is downright boyish or disgusting.
Examples
- Goku from Dragon Ball.
- Sora from Kingdom Hearts.
- Ash Ketchum from Pokémon, to a somewhat more immature and stupid degree.
- Ruy from Street Fighter.
- Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney to a less stupid degree.
- Genki Sakura from Monster Rancher.
