Not, Also known as !, ~, ¬ and Sata Andagi, means the opposite of, or a really stupid way to contradict yourself ("I'm really clever, NOT!"). In some forms of the word it also means sweet deep fried buns of dough, but this meaning is disputed.

In episode 3 of Captain Planet, Captain Planet says "Hopalong Planet will not take this lying down."
In the movie Borat, Borat fails to understand the word not as a contradiction. [1]
