Jumping is one of the most basic movements known to man. Why do we have to explain what it is? Well, if you insist...

Jumping is the use of the leg muscles to push oneself from the floor to the air... actually, that's not the only meaning of the word, but I don't really feel like enumerating other meanings. 'sides, Kumizone isn't just a mere fact or definition website, y'know?

Anyway, in real life, most people are supposed to only jump at less than half their height; anything higher would be quite... hard. Well, doesn't stop experts from trying. People like Mario and Luigi are already beyond expertise, so you don't really need to question them.

And yes, acrophobics are scared to death of the thought of having to jump from a great height. That's kind of justified, because falling from a great height without a parachute would be quite... lethal, you know?
