Nanako is an original character created by Keiji. She is the conglomerate embodiment of everything awesome Keiji likes in a girl, in both appearance and personality.
Nanako is, somewhat, a paradox of existence - she was born as a soul and her body is massless. Because of this odd property, she can transform herself into a bitstream and teleport herself through the cyberworld. It's later revealed in Project Nanako that this property is tied to her Soul accessory, which can be removed to give her a normal body, and can be given to others to give them the same property.
