Powered by the sturdy, efficient and all-time favorite Motorola 68k processor, the Sega Mega Drive, or SMD, was the console to revolutionize gaming. Aside the usual awesome games, it boasted Sonic 3 & Knuckles (with Lock-On Technology!), Streets of Rage 2 and let's not forget the best version of Satan's theme.

Too bad some silly CEOs had to make blunder after blunder following the Great Success of the SMD itself, leading to such bizarre devices as the Sega CD and the Sega 32X. They should have just made the Neptune. Oh wait, then The Neptune wouldn't have been so damn awesome a decade later.
