A miko, also known as a shrine maiden, is a girl who often serves the gods (and, in exchange, uses their powers) and hunts down demons and evil spirits. On certain occasions, they also fly around shooting bullets everywhere. They're also in charge of ceremonies involving god worship.
They practice shinto-ism and live in shrines. They usually have to keep training to keep their spiritual powers strong, though. Too bad some of them are rather lazy, though.
Their weapons vary with each miko, but if she's a miko, she's sure to have a gohei with her, or some other stick.
Should never be mistaken with nuns.
