Japanese is the most awesome language evar, which is spoken in Japan, the most awesome country evar. It is made up of three scripts: kanji, hiragana and katakana. The latter two are more modern and phonetic, whereas kanji are ancient, mainly taken from Chinese, and certainly not phonetic.

There are several reasons why Japanese is so awesome:

  • The letters look attractive, and can be written in any direction as they are all bounded by identically-sized squares.
  • Concatenating any kana in writing means you just concatenate the pronunciation too. There are no silly rules to follow like in English.
  • Any mess of kana is pronounceable.
