MAGES. is one of Neptunia's many referential sidekick characters. She is a reference to Steins;Gate, as she pretends to talk on a cellphone about "The Organisation" and always ends such calls with code words in another language; she also insists her quest and reason to stick around with the protagonists is to search for Doc P. She also has Mayuri and Feris outfits available in the in-game shop. She did not appear in the original 2010 game, and was a DLC character in her debut game, but comes as a built-in character in Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth1 and has many appearances in the story. She is the first referential character to become playable, joining as early as Chapter 4 (?).
As her name would imply, she attacks magically, and is also the first available character to use long-range attacks (the only other one being Histoire). She is adept at all forms of magic (though Neptunia has never really had great emphasis on elemental types): being able to use fire, wind and thunder in her regular attacks, and dark magic for her EXE Drive.
In Chapter 7, she and MarvelousAQL temporarily leave your party to defend Planeptune from hundreds of Fake Purple Heart clones while you go off to fulfill each Land's quest.
