World 1 (InstanceTopic, 10)

From Compile Worlds

World 1 is the unimaginative name of the first world in most Mario games. It is of course, the first and easiest of all the worlds in the game. In Mario RPGs, the games chapters or segments usually encompass an area or several areas that would equal a "world" in that sense. One might logically assume that the "World 1" in Paper Mario would be Chapter 1, and therefore "World 1" would include Koopa Village, Koopa Bros. Fortress, and Pleasant Path. In some games, where worlds are not equal in length, this world is usually among the shortest(if not the shortest world) of the worlds in a game.

Common Theme

The theme of World 1 is stereotypically a plain, grassland or other wise ridiculously happy and bubbly green environment. Usually common colors of this world are green, sky blue, pink and other happy colors. Typically, this world also features many grass-covered platforms. In the background usually hills with eyes and Peach's Castle can be seen. The sky here is always blue with a few white clouds, and always seems to be in an everlasting happy day.

Typically, the enemies featured in this world are weak, and there are relatively few fortressess and castles to overcome. Sometimes this makes the world incredibly boring. Usually, enemies in World 1 include Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Paratroopas, and occasionally Cheep Cheeps and Bloopers.

Usually, the world also contains shit loads of opportunities to collect basic Powerups and perform infinite 1-Up tricks. As such, the world may contain a large number of Red mushrooms and Fire flowers in easily accessible areas.

Occasionally however, this world has been associated with an Island or Plateau theme, usually common themes for worlds 3 and 2 respectively. In Paper Mario often this world usually encompasses a village of Koopas near a large imposing fortress.
