The heart is a vital organ in your body which pumps blood around all day, erry day.
Some thousands of years ago, someone decided that because it speeds up when you get excited, it has anything to do with love. Well, this is quite the misconception, but it seems to be a universal belief these days. Yup, even the one writing this can't help but agree.
The ♥ symbol derives from its shape... somehow. This is often used as a symbol of love, and sometimes used in video games to denote health. When people use it in text, though, it denotes great happiness in statements. Because, seriously. punishment times are so much fun! ♥
