Flandre Scarlet is a vampire in the Touhou series, first appearing in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil as the extra boss. Because of her immense destructive power and mentality problems, she had to be locked up in the basement of Scarlet Devil Mansion by her sister, even though letting her out for some fresh air and therapy would have been much better. Well, then again, they were born centuries ago, when European aristocrats loved doing that.

Despite this, she seems to act like a perfectly normal happy kid and loves her sister regardless. Due to how she is almost never allowed out of the aforementioned basement, Flandre has very little knowledge of the outside world and has been known to confuse snow with danmaku because of its appearance. She also has next to no part in Touhou Mother, other than dancing with her sister once, which is just lame. (Considering she could probably just win the game whenever she wanted.) In addition to that, pretty much the only game she has ever appeared in is her debut game and that other game where that tengu went on an interviewing palooza. Dammit, Remilia!

Flandre's theme, U.N. Owen Was Her?, is one of the most popular songs, beating even Sakuya's Luna Dial! Well, we've all been McRoll'd at least once when we were Touhou newfags, so yeah. Oops, looks like Remilia's big secret, the one that she's been trying to hide from even God, is now known throughout the universe.

Religion

It seems Keiji has started a religion of Flandreism, i.e. worshipping Flandre because she's freaking awesome and could kill anyone in two seconds (and quite often does so for her own amusement). You'd better worship her too or you'll be next to see her spellcard! And yes, Flandreism is even more important than Haruhiism and maybe even Carbunclism.
