Ai to Yuuki to Kashiwa Mochi is a puzzle game similar to Bejeweled Twist, just with bidirectional rotation, diagonal matches, and you have to get four in a row instead of three, and it has sweets instead of jewels, and it doesn't have all the neat special effects...

It stars a girl named Ai-chan and her boyfriend Yuuki, adventuring through a brown-orange dreamland filled with the aforementioned sweets.

It's a rather nice and innocent, casual and relaxing game to try out... but you'll need to be an expert at these kinds of games (Read: Combo like mad) to get far. Well, at least the characters are adorable~

A sequel, Ai to Yuuki to Kashiwa Mochi: Kai, is in the works... probably. The site that says so directs you to Doraemon whenever you click at gameplay footage to have a closer look.

The Truth

Actually, this game's made by the same guy who made Irisu Syndrome, which means it's got a page on TV Tropes' DarthWiki, too.

Ai-chan is a cancer patient in a hospital who's slowly dying as you play the game, and Yuuki's actually a shinigami sent to guide her to the afterlife. If you play the game 13 times, She dies and he takes her away and they get removed from the game. Nooo! D:

But, don't fret! If you get at least 50 000, Ai-chan will come back to life and keep cheering you on again! Yuuki never comes back, though, and Ai-chan misses him... but if you're skill on this game is god-like, then she'll get over him and eat bamboo-wrapped mochi with her mommy. D'aww~<3
