Sonic Drift 2, or Sonic Drift Racing to those in the United Kingdom, is SEGA's second attempt at making a Sonic racing game, and the only sequel to Sonic Drift...well, unless you count Sonic and SEGA Allstars Racing anyway. It is much like the first game, but there are more drivers, and more original courses, although Sonic the Hedgehog 2 inspired courses are present as well. The game play was also made more difficult by improving the rubberband AI and "balancing" the characters. It is also the first Sonic racing game to reach an international audience without the aid of a collection anthology.

Most notable was the inclusion of Fang the Sniper, as well as more emphasis on Sonic and Knuckles remixes. Despite this, I guess the purists still hated the game because cars suck...
