The wingboard is an object that appears right at the start of Sonic Adventure 2's Hero story, where Sonic uses it to descend Central City's downhill streets.
The name comes from the fact that it was actually broken off the wing of a helicopter (wait, since when did helicopters have wings?) and is used as a skateboard.
It's quite reminiscient of Ice Cap Zone's snowboarding section. In fact, it's the exact same thing, just without any snow... and in 3D.
