The Chao Key is a Key needed to visit the Chao Gardens. It unlocks a teleporter to the Chao Lobby. The key itself resembles a small Chao head, and can be found in a Chao Box, which are usually a bitch to find. Unlike most Sonic items however, the key isn't dropped upon damage. However, dying will cause one to lose the key, which will aggravate you greatly.
