Snow is a weather phenomenon that occurs naturally in colder parts of the world. It's basically ice powder. If you didn't know that already, go outside and play.
While it may look very beautiful in whatever the latest anime to use the winter cliche is, do remember that in the real world it brings traffic to a standstill and causes chaos. Oh dear...
Snow is "yuki" in Japanese, not to be confused with "yuuki", which means courage. Both are popular given names, though. But that's getting a bit off topic!
