A '''virtual world''' is a type of [[world]] which is entirely [[emulated]] by a [[computer]]. Virtual worlds are fairly common in [[fiction]], such as [[The Matrix]], [[Code Lyoko]], [[Pulseman]] and [[Project Nanako]]. There's a fair amount of [[controversy]] over the possibility of [[living being]]s being transferred between virtual and real worlds, though. Project Nanako gets around this by simply transferring an AI form's mind into a [[robot]]ic body, and could potentially allow [[human]]s to control [[avatar]]s using a [[virtual reality]] machine.
