Twins are a pair of individuals who were born as a result of the same pregnancy. Regardless of the fact that they are born at roughly the same time, people still like to differentiate between the "older" and "younger" of the pair, usually separated only by minutes.
Both identical and fraternal twins commonly crop up in fictional universes, and there are many concepts often associated with twins, such as various forms of telepathy. Alternatively, twin characters may be given contrasting personalities, for example with Hisui and Kohaku.
Trivia
- In a certain h-work, two of the female characters who are twins were named April and May, purely because the former was born just before midnight at the end of April, and the latter born just after midnight which would be at the beginning of May. Needless to say, they were not amused.
