World destruction is the goal of many would-be villains. However, the problem with this idea is that once you've destroyed the world, you'll presumably have destroyed yourself in the process, and even if not, you'd be left with a pretty boring rest of your life, not having any world to terrorize any more...
Certainly, a much better idea is world domination.
