An imageboard, also known as a chan board (or simply chan) is a type of web application designed for people to post images. Most imageboards encourage or even force anonymous posting.
Famous imageboards include, but are not limited to, 2chan, 4chan and 7chan.
An evolution of the imageboard is the booru, where instead of having to choose a board and thread in which to post your image, you simply upload and tag the image, and then you search by tags. Well-known boorus include Danbooru, Gelbooru and Safebooru.
