Metal Sonic is a character from Sonic CD, fulfilling a similar role to Knuckles in Sonic 3.
He somehow got an OVA, and some two decades or so later, ended up being paired up with the unlikely Rikka Takanashi (...no, not in THAT way... how would that even work anyway) and Triple-Q to make some crazy kickass mashup.
