Well, it's their loss, as we can call it "two-key" to differentiate it from the original, whereas the Japs would have to keep calling it "The new one" or whatever.

Unlike the original, whose developer, [[Kikiyama]], [[disappeared without a trace]] after releasing version 0.10 [[Event:2005|five years ago]], 2kki is under constant [[development]] from... [[2ch|well, anyone, really]].

Strangely, even though the original game was developed using [[RPG Maker]] 2003, 2kki is being made in RPG Maker '''2000''' (i.e. an older version, for those who can't [[count]]).

2kki features [[Urotsuki]] as your [[player character]] and a vast number of [[NPC]]s, including many [[human]]s, much more than the original game. It also has a much bigger game world, which expands with every new release as many areas contain inactive [[teleporter]]s and coned-off areas. This means there's much more to see but it's also far harder to remember the route to anywhere.

Oddly, judging from the effects room at least, there are only [[20]] effects in 2kki, compared with the [[24]] effects of Nikki. Hopefully this just means the effects room will be enlarged once new effects are added, rather than that there will never be more than 20 effects.
