In the Neptunia series, there are a hundred or so minor background characters known as '''Residents'''. They show up only via the ''Gamipic'' interface, accessible on the map screens to say an isolated few lines at various points through the story. Sometimes they talk about completely random subjects, but often their dialogue is relevant to the plot progression, giving an idea of what normal people that have nothing to do with the [[CPU]]s think of the goings-on. Many are references to other video games or companies involved in the video game industry.

It's worth noting that in [[Neptunia 1|Original]], ''only'' Residents show up via Gamipic, while in [[Neptunia 2|Sisters]] and [[Neptunia 3|Victory]], all the major characters appear via Gamipic too. The name ''Gamipic'' is not mentioned until the prologue of Victory (where [[Neptune]] sends ''This is a...what do you call it? A Gamipic text message.'') but is then mentioned many more times throughout that game.
